Learn How To Choose The Most Comfortable Clothing To Wear After Giving Birth

Many women do not know what to expect after they give birth. They are not sure if their body is going to bounce back to the way it was before they gave birth, or if they are going to have work hard to try to lose weight, tighten their tummy, and get the body they want. Some women who have a cesarean section are not able to start working out right after having a baby because their body needs time to recover from the experience. If you have recently had a baby, it is important to buy clothes that make you feel as confident and comfortable as you can possibly be. The following guide walks you through a few tips for choosing the best clothes you can to fit your new body in a flattering way.

Ensure Your Pants Aren't Too Restrictive

When you are recovering from cesarean surgery, you need to be sure that you do not wear overly tight pants because they can put too much pressure on your incision location. If you have a few jeans that you love to wear, but they are slightly tighter than you want them to be, consider taking a rubber band and pulling it through the button hold. Grasp one end of the rubber band and pull the other end through the button hole. Loop both ends over the button on your pants. Your pants will look buttoned, but the rubber band will give them an extra inch or so in the waist.

Wear Flowy Shirts

If you are self-conscious about your waist, consider wearing shirts that are made from lightweight, flowy material. You want to be sure that the shirts are long enough to cover your sides so that you do not feel that you are showing your skin when you bend over to pick something up. If you plan to nurse, you want to be sure to wear shirts that are somewhat stretchy so that you can pull them down or up to allow your child to nurse with ease. Ponchos from companies like Velvet Bungalow are often a great option.

Wear Flat Shoes

After having a baby, wearing heels can be quite difficult because you will be constantly carrying your baby or a car seat with you. The additional weight can cause you to lose your balance and fall. It is best to wear flat shoes until you are used to carrying the additional weight to keep you and your baby as safe as possible when you are carrying them.

If you use these tips, you should be able to dress in a comfortable, stylish way right after you have your baby. You should start to lose weight relatively quickly if you watch what you eat and start to exercise as soon as you can. As you lose weight, you may be able to start wearing the clothes you wore before you were pregnant sooner than you think.
